Grizzly Bear 399
Often hailed as the world's most famous wild bear, was a matriarch of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem who captivated wildlife enthusiasts and the general public for nearly two decades. Born in 1996, she became a symbol of resilience, a devoted mother, and a crucial ambassador for grizzly bear conservation. Her cub Spirit was first spotted in May of 2023. These images were captured in 2024.

The second litter was born between 2006 and 2007, with Grizzly 615 male, Grizzly 617 male, and Grizzly 610’s grandcubs. The third litter was born between 2009 and 2010, with seven cubs. The fourth litter was born between 2011 and 2012, with three cubs. The fifth litter was born between 2016 and 2017, with three cubs. The sixth litter was born in 2020, with five cubs. The seventh litter was born in 2023, with one female cub.
